There are moments when you need to leave your computer running overnight, to complete a lengthy operation, but you may feel uneasy if the machine is kept running all this time. With AutoClose, you can schedule your computer to close applications automatically and to preform various power-related actions as well. What makes it different from basic auto-shutdown utilities is the fact that it lets you set up schedules for multiple applications separately, which means that you can, for example, let your computer perform several tasks in parallel and make it shut down when the last one is complete.

The application is offered completely free of charge, with no hidden fees or restrictions. The installation process is quick and it doesn't involve any complex settings. You can use it on any modern Windows system and you don't have to meet any special requirements.

When launched, AutoClose displays a quick guide on how to set up a schedule. The procedure is quite simple. Schedules can be defined quickly and easily, after which they show up in a list. You can create more than one schedule, for different applications and you can also delete them separately or clear the entire list.

Schedules are defined on a separate window, on which you can find a list of running processes. All you have to do is select a process and specify when you want it to shut down. Alternatively, if you find it difficult to locate a specific process in the list, you can click and drag a selection tool from the scheduling window to the process' corresponding window.

The software lets you set a countdown timer or specify an exact date and time. Furthermore, you can select an additional action, in a drop-down menu, on the same window, if you want to shut down the computer or perform other power-related actions, once the process is closed.

With AutoClose running on your computer, you can have any applications shut down, one after another. When the final application is closed, you computer can shut down or switch to sleep mode automatically, so you won't end up wasting power. If you forget to set an additional power action, you can select one on the main interface and the application will execute it once the last scheduled action is carried out.

You can certainly say, without any doubt, that AutoClose is a much better solution than most auto-shutdown utilities on the market.

Pros

You can schedule several applications to close automatically. The software can also shut down your computer or preform other power actions, once the last application is closed. It has a simple user interface and easy-to-master controls.

Cons

There are no obvious drawbacks to mention.
